About Us!The Model UN team travels to conferences to consider international issues in mock United Nations committee sessions. At each conference, we debate from the perspective of a specific country. We also attend conferences with "crisis simulations" in which, rather than a UN committee, you would be participating in an historical or fictional/futuristic reenactment such as the 1994 South African government, the 2050 US National Security Council, or a SHIELD committee. No experience is necessary; we provide training before each conference and are happy to help you with the research process.
What We DoIn addition to traveling and learning about international issues, MUN is a great way to make friends and get involved on campus. We hold awareness events and socials on UN Day, most holidays, and all throughout the year. Our socials include paining the wall on 34th, BBQs at Lake Wauberg, Gator game tailgates, sporting events, and parties. We are avid participants in intramurals such as dodgeball, volleyball, and soccer which are a lot of fun! We also host two weekend-long conferences throughout the year, one for high school students, GatorMUN, and one for college students, FLCS.
